A day in the life of an Australian Ballerina in Paris - Living with NuroKor Series

We spend the day with the lovely Madeleine Bell - NuroKor Ambassador, and get a glimpse into her drive, training, dedication and ambition to follow her dreams.

How does NuroKor technology fit into her day to day life?

From our CEO Rick Rowan - "Love seeing how NuroKor BioElectronics is making a huge difference to the quality of life athletes in all fields".

"Dance is both and art and a sport", as lovely Madeleine puts in this video, you have to train like and athlete but you are still performing an art form.

This is another beautifully captured short film in our Day In The Life series by Somi Arian and her team at Smartcookie media.

Madeleine:

Dance is an art form. You have to train like an athlete, you have to treat yourself like an athlete, recover like an athlete, but at the same time what you do at the end of the day, it is an art. It has the difficulties of being an athlete, but the stories that you tell are part of the art form.

Madeleine:

I have been in Paris for almost six months. Coming from Australia, the dance industry is quite small. I started dance when I was about five. I started ballet when I was seven. It's a lot of stress on your body, on your mind. The biggest thing that will end a dance career is injury. I had a hip impingement a few years previously and every now and then it was flaring up and at this point it was actually quite painful and preventing me from full mobility in my classes. I discovered NuroKor a few months ago and it's been life changing.

Madeleine:

I love the feel of the physical sensation and I can feel that it is making such a difference to my muscles, but it was actually the microcurrent setting, which you can't even feel that made the biggest difference. Literally overnight. All the pain that I had been suffering in my hip was down by 90% the next morning. I was shocked like I didn't believe that that pain could have been fixed so quickly. Now I use it all the time and I use all the settings and there's all these different parts that I can use. Like for my feet, I can use the shoes, for my back I can use the band. Literally changed the way that I recover and the importance that I put on recovery as well.

Madeleine:

I usually wake up and I do a floor barre first thing to get my body moving. I have breakfast, have coffee, absolutely. I go to class. I'm usually there about an hour early. Some days I rehearse as well for audition videos, for solos. I go to the gym and then I work. I'm working with children, I teach English.

Madeleine:

It was really easy actually to talk about NuroKor with my fellow dancers and friends. One of my first friends who I was able to share it with, he's actually also a professional ballet dancer. I brought it for him to use while he was coaching me with one of my solos and literally the first time he uses it, he lit up like a child at Christmas because the feeling is so sensational that it literally changes your life.

Nick:

I use it mainly for my lower back, so I use the attachment that comes with it.

Madeleine: The KorBand.

Nick:

The KorBand. I love how you know what it is. Yeah, so I mainly use it for that. That's helped me a lot. Apart from that, I also use the little foot inserts, the KorShoes. There we go, and generally just if I have like something nigglish or a little muscle pain, I put the attachment on.

Madeleine:

One of my teachers has arthritis in one hand and it had been slowly getting worse, and I gave it to him to try out because I thought it could help him.

Wayne Byars:

I find that the NuroKor device is so interesting for dancers or anybody using their body intensely. A lot of these people, they work so hard that sometimes in the morning before class they have to take painkillers. And with this device you can put those away. I couldn't recommend it more for dancers.

Wayne Byars:

I personally have been dealing with wrist arthritis so bad that I had to stop playing piano for one year. And I've been using the NuroKor device for not even a month now, every day, and I'm completely pain-free.

Madeleine:

In the evening, I really like to try and repair my body from the day and get ready for the next day. Ballet shoes are still made very traditionally, which is paper and glue. So you have to prepare each pair of shoes personally. And it usually takes, maybe in all, about an hour and a half. And the other great thing about the NuroKor device is I can use it while I'm preparing my shoes for the next day and getting ready and setting everything up.

Madeleine:

So this was a day in my life as a ballet dancer in Paris. Thank you for spending it with me.
